Book Review: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Book review by Ethan Wilde

1. brief summary

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a cute children's book about a child named Charlie Bucket who lives with his extremely poor family in a small cottage on the edge of the rich city. In this city there was the best chocolate factory in the world owned by a person named Willy Wonka. When Charlie's family starts to starve, he receives one of five golden tickets. He is then- along with four other children -allowed to enter Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. inside, all of the other children get eliminated in several different ways until there is only little Charlie left. then Mr.Wonka gives charlie and his family the chocolate factory.

2. important aspects

I think that the most important aspect of this book is the moral of the story. this story has many morals, such as read books, don't spoil your children, and many others. I think this is very important, especially in children's books. There is also a few morals for adults too. that's why i think this would be a good book to read with your child.

3. quotes

“Whipped cream isn't whipped cream at all if it hasn't been whipped with whips, just like poached eggs isn't poached eggs unless it's been stolen in the dead of the night.”

“Everything in this room is edible. Even I'm edible. But, that would be called cannibalism. It is looked down upon in most societies.”
― Tim Burton, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

4. similar books

if you liked all of the witty, off the wall humor in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, then you would love where the sidewalk ends by Shel Silverstein. and, in you liked the writing in Charlie and the Chocolate factory, you  would love some of  Roald Dahl's other books, such as Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.
